China Tour

The 20th IPMA World Congress provides an excellent opportunity for  participants to discover the unique Chinese cultures and traditions as well as its architectural heritage. There are lots of "must see" tourist attractions well known to the world, such as, the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Terra-cotta Warriors, etc. No matter whether you are an independent traveller, a couple, a family or a group, you may choose a tourist route as you wish.

Shanghai: As a new engine of the global economy, Shanghai is an  international metropolis  with a total  population of 16,000,000. She is well known in the world not only for its prosperous cosmopolitan feature but also for its rich humanistic resources. In recent years, a good number of modern buildings have been added to the city, such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Library, Shanghai Stadium, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Shanghai Circus City, etc. They have become the new scenic sights in Shanghai. Colorful festivities, like Shanghai Tourism Festival and Shanghai China International Art Festival, have attracted and an increasing number of tourists from home and abroad.

Since Shanghai succeeded in winning the bid to host the World Expo 2010, all aspects of preparation work have started and are in progress. The world has given China a share of luck and Shanghai will add more splendor to the world. She is ushering in excellent opportunities for development. People of Shanghai warmly welcome visitors from home and overseas.

Beijing: Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China. It was also the seat of the Qing Dynasty emperor until the formation of the republic in 1911, so it has rich historical sites, and important government institutions.

The city is well known for its flatness and regular construction. Although Beijing now is modern, fashionable and full of the 21st Century vitality, you can experience her real life and become acquainted with 'old Beijing' by exploring its many teahouses, temple fairs, Beijing's Hutong and courtyards and enjoy the Peking Opera. Adding any or all of these to your Beijing tour and you will leave with a feeling of special appreciation in your heart for this ancient city that has truly seen it all and tells her own stories with unique grace, charm and vigor. The Tian An Men Square and the Forbidden City are seated right in the centre of the city.

The International Olympic Committee has decided that Beijing will serve as the host city for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, the Summer Olympic Games of 2008.

Xi’an: the eternal city, records the great changes of the Chinese nation  like a living history book. Called Chang'an in ancient times, Xian is one of the birthplaces of the ancient civilization in the Yellow River Basin area of the country. During Xian's 3,100 year development, 13 Chinese dynasties, such as Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang placed their capitals here. So far, she enjoys an equal fame along with Athens, Cairo, and Rome as one of the four major ancient cities. The cultural and historical significance of the city, as well as the historic relics and sites, help her enjoy the laudatory title of "Natural History Museum". The Museum of Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses is highly regarded as the eighth miracle of the world, while Mausoleum of     Emperor Qin Shi Huang is included in the World Heritage List.
