NEW TIP OF THE DAY Project Leadership Tips
Regardless of project size or complexity, project managers are placed in a leadership position. The positions of “project expeditor” and “project coordinator” are also included in the description of leader. In fact, the expeditor and coordinator positions, and the minimal authority associated with the titles, may have a more challenging job than those with some degree of formal authority. Regardless of the actual project manager role, there is an inherent element of leadership required. In the project environment where the team members and resources are often borrowed from various function entities, the need for effective communication, clear objectives, strong interpersonal skills, and an effective manner for dealing with difficult people are essential. These are certainly qualities associated with leadership. To assist the project manager in effectively coping with the challenges of project leadership, the following tips are offered for consideration.
Tip #4: Find a way to make the project enjoyable

Project work is not about creating a “fun” environment, but using tasteful humor, engaging in informal discussions for a few minutes before meeting and scheduling some type of team building activity occasionally will help the team to grow and give them a greater sense of confidence and mutual support.
